I’m 52 now and for the last three years, it felt like my body had just given up on me. I’ve always been active, but suddenly nothing worked. I tried keto for six months, lost five pounds, and then just stalled. I even tried those extreme HIIT classes, but they just left me feeling burnt out and more bloated than when I started. It was like my stomach had a mind of its own.
About six months ago, I decided to try a different approach focused on my hormones rather than just cutting calories. I started taking a daily capsule called Menovelle (i buy here) with my morning tea. It is a blend of several medicinal mushrooms like Reishi and Lion’s Mane that are supposed to help with estrogen balance.
The first three weeks were honestly a bit frustrating because nothing happened on the scale. I almost quit. But by the end of the first month, I noticed I wasn’t waking up drenched in sweat anymore. That was the first big win for my sleep quality. During months two and three, the stubborn middle area finally started to shrink. I didn’t lose weight fast—maybe a pound a week—but it was consistent for the first time in years.
By month five, I could actually zip up my favorite old jeans again. What I love most about Menovelle is that it didn’t give me those weird jitters that caffeine-based fat burners do. I’ve found that sticking with Menovelle consistently every single morning was the key to seeing those changes in my skin and energy levels too.
Is it perfect? No. I still have days where I feel sluggish if I don’t eat right, and it is definitely not a cheap supplement. It’s also not a magic pill where you can just eat junk and expect results. But compared to the years I spent struggling with keto and feeling miserable, this has been a much more sustainable path for me. I’m finally feeling like myself again.

The ‘menopause middle’ is the absolute worst. I’m glad you found something that actually shifts it. I’ve been doing keto for a year and the scale hasn’t budged in four months.

Are there any side effects with the mushroom blend? I have a sensitive stomach and most supplements make me nauseous if I don’t eat a full meal first.

I’ve been on Menovelle for three months now and my hot flashes are basically gone. It’s been a lifesaver for my sleep too, which I think helped the weight come off faster.

Interesting about the tea. Do you think it matters what kind of tea you use? I usually have a coffee first thing but I could switch if it helps the absorption.

I’m 49 and just starting to hit this wall. It’s so demoralizing when the gym routine you’ve used for decades suddenly stops working. Thanks for sharing the timeline, it helps to know it takes a few weeks.

Does this have any caffeine in it? I’m really sensitive to stimulants especially in the afternoon.

Six months is a great commitment. Most people give up after two weeks if they don’t see a 10lb drop. Consistency is everything at our age.

I’ve heard of Dr. Amelia Davis before. She specializes in this kind of hormonal health. It makes sense that a targeted approach would work better than just standard dieting.

I tried a different mushroom powder last year but it tasted like dirt and didn’t do much. Are these just capsules then?

I’m always a bit skeptical of ‘hormone balancing’ claims, but the mushroom research (Lion’s Mane especially) is actually pretty solid for brain fog and stress.
Did you change your diet at all while taking it or just kept everything the same?

My doctor actually suggested looking into these specific mushroom blends for my night sweats. Menovelle has been the only thing that stopped my constant bloating after meals.

This gives me some hope. I’ve been feeling so stuck lately. Might be time to stop the HIIT and try something that actually supports my system instead of stressing it out.
