I’ve been dealing with a “gritty” feeling in my knees and lower back for nearly a decade now. It started small but eventually made my morning walk around the neighborhood something I dreaded. I spent a fortune on those giant turmeric capsules and every heating pad under the sun, but nothing lasted.
I eventually realized most things just mask the discomfort instead of helping the actual lubrication in the joints. After reading up on how we lose hyaluronan as we age—which is basically the ‘oil’ for our joints—I decided to try something specifically formulated for that. I started taking JointGenesis (i buy here) about four months ago.
In the first two weeks, I didn’t feel like a superhero. If anything, I was skeptical because the changes were so subtle. By week four, though, I noticed I wasn’t making that “grunt” sound every time I stood up from the sofa. The “grinding” sensation in my left knee felt less like sandpaper and more like a normal joint again.
By the three-month mark, I actually got back into my garden. I can kneel for about twenty minutes now before I need a break, which is a huge win for me. I think JointGenesis works differently because it focuses on that synovial fluid quality rather than just temporary relief.
Is it perfect? No. I still have stiff days if the weather turns cold, and I still have to do my daily stretches. It’s also a bit more of an investment than the generic store brands. But for me, the consistency has been worth it. I’m just glad to have found something that feels like it’s actually addressing the underlying dryness in my joints. I plan to stick with JointGenesis for the foreseeable future.

I’ve had a similar experience. I’ve been taking JointGenesis for about five months now and my finger joints don’t feel nearly as ‘locked’ in the mornings as they used to. It’s been a game changer for my knitting hobby.

Glad to hear you’re back in the garden! Do you find you have to take it with food? Some supplements really mess with my stomach if I’m not careful.

I tried the turmeric route too and it did absolutely nothing for me. I think people forget that inflammation is only part of the problem when you’re over 60.
Twenty minutes of kneeling is impressive. I’m lucky if I get five minutes before my hips start complaining. Might have to look into this.

The science behind the hyaluronan actually makes sense to me. I started JointGenesis after my doctor mentioned synovial fluid loss. It took a few weeks to kick in, but my hip doesn’t catch like it used to.
I know that ‘gritty’ feeling all too well. It’s like having sand in your hinges. Glad you found something that helps.

Did you notice any side effects in the beginning? I’m always cautious about starting new things.
I agree with the OP about the timeline. You can’t expect a miracle in three days. I’ve used JointGenesis for a full season now and I’m back to playing doubles tennis twice a week without paying for it the next day.
I’ve been using a foam roller and doing light swimming. It helps, but that deep ache in the bone usually stays there. Maybe I need to address the fluid aspect too.

It is a bit expensive compared to the grocery store stuff, but if it works, it’s worth it. I’ve wasted so much money on cheap pills that did nothing.
Cutting out sugar helped my inflammation a lot too. It’s usually a combination of things that gets us back on our feet.

For me, JointGenesis was the missing piece. I was already doing PT and eating clean, but adding this helped that deep, ‘dry’ ache that nothing else seemed to touch. My knees feel much more cushioned.
The humidity here in Florida always makes my knees worse. I’m looking for anything that might give me some relief during the summer months.
OP, did you change your diet at all while you were taking it, or just the supplement? I’m trying to see what the biggest factor was.
Small wins are everything at our age. Just being able to get up without a groan is a victory in my book!
Thanks for sharing such a detailed update. It’s helpful to see a realistic timeline rather than those ‘overnight cure’ ads you see everywhere.
