I have a chronic UTI that hasn’t cleared up after multiple rounds of antibiotics like Macrobid, doxycycline, Augmentin, and Keflex. I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy in 12 days for early-stage cancer. While I have pelvic pain and urinary issues, my oncologist claims the UTI won’t interfere with the procedure. However, I’m worried about the risk of sepsis or a kidney infection. I’m struggling to get in with a urogynecologist and am wondering if I should head to the ER or just wait until after my surgery. Any guidance would be helpful.
