Steps I took to handle nagging lower back and wrist pain

I wanted to share a quick update on how I’ve been managing the stiffness in my lower back and wrists lately. Turning 62 this year, I realized that the “push through it” mentality wasn’t working anymore. My morning routine used to start with about twenty minutes of just trying to get my fingers to move properly so I could hold a coffee mug.

Over the last three months, I’ve made a few specific changes that have actually stuck. First, I stopped ignoring my water intake. It sounds basic, but staying hydrated makes a massive difference in how my joints feel when I wake up. I also started doing five minutes of very gentle cat-cow stretches before I even leave the bedroom.

The biggest shift happened when I started looking into why my joints felt so “dry” and crunchy. I learned that as we get older, we lose hyaluronan, which is basically the jelly that keeps things moving smoothly. After some digging, I decided to try a supplement called JointGenesis (got mine here) because it specifically targets that loss of lubrication. It took about four or five weeks to really notice, but the clicking in my wrists has quieted down significantly, and I can actually get through a Saturday in the garage without feeling like I need a week to recover.

It isn’t a miracle cure—I still have to be careful with how much heavy lifting I do—but the combination of better hydration, consistent movement, and focusing on that internal lubrication has made my daily life much more manageable. If you’re struggling with that “bone-on-bone” feeling, it might be worth looking into how you’re supporting your joint fluid rather than just masking the discomfort.

This is very encouraging. I’m 65 and the ‘dry’ feeling in my knuckles is exactly what I’ve been dealing with lately. Glad you found a routine that works.

Are those cat-cow stretches safe for someone with a history of disc issues? I’ve been looking for a morning routine that doesn’t overdo it.

The hydration part is so overlooked. I find that if I have even one glass of wine at night, my back is twice as stiff the next morning. It really is all about that fluid balance.

I’ve tried a few supplements before and never saw much. Most of them are just overpriced vitamins. Glad it worked for you though.

I’ve been a physical therapist for 30 years and I can tell you that mobility work combined with proper nutrition is the only way to age gracefully. You’re on the right track with the cat-cow movements.

How long did it take for the back pain to subside? My wrists aren’t too bad but my lower back is a constant battle.

I actually started taking JointGenesis about two months ago for my ankles after seeing a similar recommendation. It’s been one of the few things that actually made a dent in the morning stiffness for me too.

My sister-in-law recommended JointGenesis to me last year. I was skeptical at first, but it definitely helped with the grinding feeling in my knees when I go down stairs.

Thanks for sharing this update. It’s nice to see people finding ways to stay active without just relying on heavy painkillers.
