I’ve been dealing with a persistent issue on my big toe for about two years. It started small but eventually made the nail look cloudy and brittle. I tried the standard drugstore creams and even some vinegar soaks, but nothing seemed to penetrate deep enough to make a real difference.
Honestly, I was skeptical about trying something else because I didn’t want to throw more money away. I decided to try a different approach that used a blend of special oils instead of just one active chemical. This is when I started using Kerassentials Serum (i get it here).
Timeline:
- Weeks 1-3: Not much change in the nail itself, but the skin around it felt much less irritated and dry.
- Month 2: I noticed the base of the nail was growing in looking clearer and less yellow.
- Month 4: The top half is still a bit rough, but the new growth is definitely healthier and more resistant to that old thickening.
Compared to the thick pastes I used before, this felt more like it was actually absorbing into the nail bed. I’ve been using Kerassentials Serum twice a day after my shower. It’s not a miracle—you have to be incredibly consistent. If I missed a few days, I felt like I was losing progress and the skin would start to look flaky again.
Caveats: It’s oily, so you have to wait for it to dry for a few minutes before putting socks on. Also, it’s not cheap, and it took way longer than I expected to see the clear nail coming back. I’m sticking with Kerassentials Serum for now because it’s the only thing that hasn’t plateaued after a month of use. It really seems to help the skin’s resistance to the stuff that keeps causing the issues.

Does it leave a stain on your socks? I’ve tried oils before and they ruined my favorite pairs.
Four months sounds like a long time to wait, but I guess nails grow slow. Glad it’s finally working for you.
Pharmacy creams are the worst. They just sit on top and do nothing for the actual nail plate.

I’ve been on Kerassentials Serum for three months now and my athlete’s foot is finally staying away. Best results I’ve had in years compared to the sprays.
Totally agree on the consistency part. I started seeing real change with Kerassentials Serum once I made it a strict morning and night habit without skipping.
Kerassentials Serum helped clear up my husband’s nails after he caught something at the local pool. It really helps the skin resistance too.

Are you filing the surface of the nail down at all? My podiatrist said that helps any topical treatment penetrate better.
What does it smell like? I tried a tea tree thing once and my whole house smelled like a hospital for weeks.

I’m currently using a different brand but it’s been six months with zero change. Might have to look into this oil blend.
The ‘pink nail’ feeling is the best. It’s such a relief when you finally see that clear growth coming from the cuticle.

Is this available at standard shops or do you have to order it online? I’m always wary of getting fake versions on Amazon.

My skin was always cracking between the toes, but Kerassentials Serum really moisturized and cleared that up. It’s been a game changer for my daily comfort.

Don’t forget to spray your shoes too! You can clear the nail but if the fungus is in your boots, it just comes right back.
I tried straight tea tree oil for a while but it dried my skin out way too much. The blend in this sounds more balanced for long term use.

How long do you actually have to wait for it to dry? I’m usually in a massive rush in the mornings.

Persistence is definitely key with these things. Most people quit after two weeks and say it doesn’t work, but nails take months to replace themselves.
