You won’t experience total blindness from glaucoma, though if you are diagnosed and prescribed drops, you’ll likely be using them for the long term. But as others have pointed out, it’s a slow-moving disease. As long as you maintain regular appointments for IOP checks and OCT scans, you will be fine!
