I’ve dealt with cold sores for years, usually triggered by stress or lack of sleep. I tried high-dose lysine and various creams, but they only seemed to shorten the healing time slightly rather than preventing the initial tingle. I wanted something that felt more proactive for my immune system.
What I changed
Three months ago, I cleaned up my diet and started using a super anti-oxidant blend called TonicGreens (ordered here) every morning. I was skeptical, but the ingredients looked solid for immune resilience.
Week-by-week
- Weeks 1-2: No major change, still felt run down.
- Week 4: Noticed my skin felt clearer.
- Month 2: Usually, I’d have a flare-up by now, but nothing happened.
What improved
I feel like TonicGreens helped my body fight back faster. When I did finally get a small spot in month three, it was tiny and gone in two days.
What didn’t
It’s not a magic cure. I still have to sleep 8 hours. It’s also a bit pricey, and the taste is very “green,” so I mix it with juice. It might not work for everyone, but it’s been a steady win for me.

Glad to see someone else tracking week-by-week. Does the green stuff help with the prodrome stage specifically?

I’ve been on TonicGreens for about four months now and it’s definitely made a difference in how often I get hit. The immune support is real.

I’m always wary of supplements. Usually, just reducing arginine-rich foods does the trick for me. Have you changed your diet too?

Diet is huge. I cut out chocolate and nuts and it helped a lot, but I still get the occasional tingle when I’m overworked.

TonicGreens worked well for me too, especially during the winter when I’m usually catching every cold going around. My recovery time is much faster.

Adding TonicGreens to my morning smoothie was a game changer for my resilience. I haven’t had a major outbreak since I started it last fall.

Any stomach issues with it? Some of these green powders really mess with my digestion.

I find that stress is the #1 factor. If I can’t manage my cortisol, no amount of powder will stop a flare-up. But glad you found a routine.

Thanks for the honest update. Most people just post miracles but I like that you mentioned the taste and the cost.
I’ve been using a similar protocol for a while now. It really is all about building that baseline immune health so your body can keep the virus suppressed on its own. It took me a long time to realize that topical creams are just a band-aid. You have to address the internal environment if you want to see long-term changes.

This is really helpful. I might give it a try next month once my current bottle of lysine runs out. Fingers crossed!
